Sigh - Thought I had civimail, but not bounces, where did I go wrong?
December 07, 2009, 09:21:51 pm
Thought I had civimail licked, but looks like not quite.  So if someone replys that is handled, if someone uses the email opt-out or unsub that is fine.  But if an email bounces no go.  Reason is email is not going to my verp reply address.

Here is my setup.

1. Using gmail
2. From email address is "myfrom@example.com" (configured on the "FromEmailAddresses" page)
3. My "Mail Account" is "myreturn"
 - localpart = tellus+
 - email domain = example.com
 - Return Path = <blank>
etc.

When I send out emails through the mailer all is well.  Replies, opt-outs by email etc. all go to "tellus+<verpgobbledygookhere>@example.com" as they should.  Only thing is that bounces simply go to "myfrom@example.com" so there is no way for the mail processor to catch them!

Where did I go wrong?  Is there something I need to do so undeliverables go to the "tellus+..." address?  Or is there something else I need to do?
