Problems Making PDF Letters
December 08, 2009, 01:14:20 pm
So I'm getting together a snail mail mailing for my office using civi for the first time (yay!) and I've hit a huge snag (boo), when I attempt to make a pdf letter I get to the very last stage of the process and hit "Make PDF Letters" and....

it takes me to http://localhost/index.php?q=civicrm/contact/search which is a blank page, no PDF, no download prompt, just a whole lot of nothing.

Has anyone else had this problem? Anyone know how to fix it? I'm not seeing any error messages in the drupal log either, so I'm afraid I don't have much to go on. This is a pretty small mailing so I could do it all by hand, but it would be nice if there was a way to fix it. My non-profit works with vets so, while most people may not use it, snail mail often the only way to get in touch with some of the older veterans.

Can you check your Apache (webserver) logs for errors?

Whoops, knew I forgot something. I'm still very much a newbie, sorry. The last thing it lists is a fatal memory allocation error, which was what I was getting prior to getting the blank page (went into the php.ini and civisettings files and upped everything and that seems to have solved it, or at least made the message go away).

But just in case it helps here it is:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 82 bytes) in /var/www/sites/all/moduels/civicrm/packages/dompdf/include/frame_tree.cls.php on line 154
