Problems registering member for Event
September 07, 2007, 10:43:30 am
This is probably something so obvious it's ridiculous...

I created an event. Tested the registration form in the event management page. No prob.
So I went in to a user, clicked the event tab, clicked new event registration, completed the basic info on that page, and clicked save. But it never sent me to the actual user reg details.

On that page (the user reg page), it looks like the problem is that when an event is selected from the drop-down, it's supposed to reload the page and include the registration fee details. However, it doesn't work correctly -- nothing appears.

Is this a bug?

Brian:

Not sure what you mean by: "But it never sent me to the actual user reg details." Do you mean drupal account details and create CMS user? Note that this feature is not available when u r creating a "new event participant" as a civicrm admin

Also note that custom fields are based on particpant role, not on event

When you go to a user, click event tab, and try to register them for an event, none of the registration fee data is included on the page. You can see a screenshot here: http://www.nyaviation.org/WORK/event_screenshot1.jpg
You can see where the fee info should be, but isn't.

I could not reproduce it on demo, check:

http://demo.civicrm.org/drupal/civicrm/contact/view/participant?reset=1&cid=102&context=participant&action=add&eid=17

Note that i did reproduce it, IF the event did not have any fee options associated with it. The Kop event did not have fee options initially. Can you reproduce your use case on demo

thanx

I was able to reproduce it, which I'm actually rather pleased about, as it affirms I'm not losing my mind (yet). I'm also using Joomla, so I feared it might be specific to that CMS. But it isn't. Look here: http://demo.civicrm.org/drupal/civicrm/contact/view/participant?reset=1&cid=102&context=participant&action=add&eid=63

This conference (Test Conference, Sept 9) has a price set containing one radio button field. No show on the actual registration form.

I did not look carefully at your event yet, to compare the differences, but will do that tomorrow. But there is some mix of settings that will come up with this bug.

thanks,
Brian

This is a bug with CiviEvent and Price Sets. I looked through the code and it involves a fair number of changes. This will be fixed in the 2.0 release. The issue is filed here:

http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-2267

Your demo worked. Mine didn't. Did you see what the difference was? (I haven't had a chance to compare the two yet).

I was thinking it might have had to do with the online registration option. For your demo event, that option was turned on. For mine, it was turned off. Perhaps there is code on the event registration form for a contact that is turning off the price set based on whether online registrations are allowed, where it should be permitting it regardless (since it's accessed via the admin area).

I'll look at it later today.

You used event price sets whereas i just used simple event fees. Price Sets are a 1.8 addition

I am interested in expediting development of this function, however I don't have the programming know-how to make it happen (at least not during this decade). I've spoken to one of the CiviCRM team developers about the project and have a quote from them. But it's a little over my budget. If anyone is willing to contribute $s to make this happen, please let me know. You can email me at brian-at-lcdservices-dot-biz.

Thanks,
