Good day!

I have a basic data input question.  I'm administering the tracking of someone's Pledge payments.  They have pledged a total of $600, with monthly payments of $50.  The first month's $50 was tracked.  Then the next month, they made a $300 contribution towards their total pledge.  Even though I chose the correct Type for the $300 entry, it did not automatically pay several months in advance, and it did not show up and the "Total Paid" on the Pledges tab, which said that only $50 had been paid by this individual towards their pledge. 

Do I need to manually break the $300 contribution into 6 monthly payments on the Pledges tab with the same date and check number?

Also, what if a person pays more than their pledged amount ~ so I just need to enter in an addition pledge?
