I wanted to set up a contribution page with recurring payments using the Dummy processor but initially the Dummy doesn't support recurring. After some poking around I finally figured out how. I had to delete the Dummy processor that I first created, edit the Dummy type, then create a new Dummy processor.

Go to civicrm/admin/paymentProcessor&reset=1 and delete the current Dummy payment processor
Go to civicrm/admin/paymentProcessorType&reset=1 and click 'edit' for the Dummy payment processor
Turn on 'Does this Payment Processor Type support recurring donations?'
Go to civicrm/admin/paymentProcessor&reset=1 and create a new Dummy payment processor

Now when you use the Dummy processor, it should give the option for recurring transactions.

The dummy processor is one that exists for testing purposes only while you setting up your site / playing with functionaliy you are thinking about implementing
