Here's a request/suggestion for you

I'm creating quite a few custom data groups and fields in an attempt to migrate an old desktop DB system to CiviCRM. While the custom data is a very powerful tool, I noticed it does not allow you to generate sub-groups of custom data.

I.e. A custom data group "A" has a 1:1 (or 1:*{many}) relationship with a contact "C" however another custom data group "B" has a 1:* relationship with the custom data group "A". Custom data group "B" should be a sub-group of group "A" (utilising its ID) instead of
having the same 1:1 relationship with contact "C" which currently it must have.

Such functionality would help represent more complex data structures better as well as increase CiviCRM's adaptability. The risk is people creating data groups which become cyclic, however dependency checking should prevent this happening.
