Hi - In civimail you can see the "Total Recipients: 222" when you initially set up a mailing. It would be nice to be able to see the names of these 222 people easily. I don't see a way to do that, is there a way? (I know you can do it by using CiviCRM to duplicate the list of groups you are sending to, which we can do as a work around, but it would be nice to be able to just click "Total Recipients" and have a pop up with the list (or something). -- Anne

Hi Anne,
I know this is probably not the "ideal" answer you are seeking, but you can view all the recipients in the mailing by looking at the "Report" that is produced immediately after the mailing is saved. The report will show you "intended" recipients as well as "successful deliveries". In the "recipients" section of the report, you will also find links for each group included in the mailing. Clicking on the links will show you all the group members.

It's not as handy as being able to click on "Total recipients", but it might be easier then going back to the "manage groups" screen and finding each group included in the mailing.

Thanks Cynthia. I was hoping for something just like that, but that I could see before the mailing went out. There's always a concern that you've got the wrong people selected by accident!

This would be quite a useful feature and a great addition to CiviMail. Would be great if you could contribute the required patch to make the total recipients a link and/or hire a developer to do the needful. We can definitely help out on IRC. Most of the code to do this is already available in CiviCRM, so more a matter of stiching together stuff

Meanwhile Anne... instead of sending the mailing "immediately", you could schedule it for a later time, which will still produce a report that shows the members of the group(s), check to make sure you have the right people and then either let the mailing go our or cancel it if there was a mistake.

Again, not ideal but maybe a bit better then clicking back to manage groups because that opens up the possibility of additional errors in that you may check the members of the wrong group(s) by mistake.

Thanks Cynthia. I didn't realize you could do that. It's too bad that view shows you each group rather than the combined list, but it's a start!
