Fixed IP addresses used for javascript references in CiviCRM 3.0.3?
December 18, 2009, 10:08:09 am
Since I'm not familiar with Drupal/Linux (other than an aborted attempt to install CiviCRM on Acquia Drupal on Windows) I downloaded Turnkey Linux's Drupal VMWare appliance and installed CiviCRM there.  After a few hours of getting my bearings, I finally had it running and operational on my local MacPro using DHCP to assign an IP address.

In order to show it off to a client, I pushed the VMWare image up to the server and configured the appliance to use a public IP address.

At that point things went seriously wrong. Pages would sometimes load, but most of the time not - just blank white pages.

By chance I happened to view the source of one of the blank white pages, and every javascript src reference included "http://(the DHCP address from when the server was set up)" rather than simply "/"

I wound up pushing up an unconfigured appliance to the server and then installing CiviCRM remotely, now it's at least functional - but what if I need to change IP addresses or move this in the future?

What do I need to to fix these "hard coded" references in the VM?
