Processing Credit Card donations with no email address

We have run into a small snag.  We regularly receive donations by regular mail with credit card info for processing. Often there is no email address.  We are using Authorize.net.

The two options I have come up with are (1) processing CC directly to Authorize.net and then entering contact and donation info into CiviCRM or (2) using a dummy email address, processing the credit card donation through CiviContribute and editing the address later.

Is there a better way to handle this situation?  Thanks.
