INclude External ID in the Adv Search screen

Just wondering if there is a logic behind not having this in Adv Search - I know this can be dealt to via customising (eg http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,1923.0.html) but think it could be a useful field in the long run to have on the screen as a default - or even if we could access the field as per Custom Data and specify 'make searchable'.

Thoughts?

I think most folks have been ok using Search Builder for this. The Adv Search screen is got soooo much stuff on it. :-)
