CiviMail Stuck on Running
December 22, 2009, 07:23:22 am
I am a new CiviSMTP user and a relatively new CiviCRM user...  After having several issues with CiviMail running directly out of our CiviCRM, I decided to jump on the CiviSMTP bandwagon.  The system is set up per the instructions and I got the cron job running.

When I go to test the system by sending an email to our STAFF group (only 5 recipients), the email hangs in the "running" status.  The cron report that fires to me via email shows that it's connecting and initiating the job, but tries several times with a response each time that says "HTTP request sent, awaiting response... No data received."  It retries several times, then gives up.  No emails actually deliver.  No bounces.  No nothing.

Any help out there?

Ben

please make sure there are no errors (in red) when you check "Test Settings" on the CiviSMTP Account Settings page:

https://civismtp.uas.coop/drupal/civismtp/account

also make sure that you are able to make outgoing requests to port 20095 from your server as some hosting providers may block this port by default.

See instructions here on how to check that:

https://civismtp.uas.coop/drupal/node/3#requirements

if there are no errors during the test and you can make outgoing requests to port 20095 then let us know and we'll debug this further.

My account settings have no errors, but it turns out my hosting company does block the port.  To submit the request to open the port, I need to know the IP address it will be opened for.  From there we should be good to go.  Where do I find that IP address?  Thanks.
