I searched the forums for and couldn't find this issue, so please excuse me if it's already been posted.

I've created a profile containing first name, last name, email address, and groups to allow users to modify their email subscription preferences.  Users can edit their name, email, and subscribe to groups without any problem.  Once subscribed, however, they cannot unsubscribe.  When they open the profile for editing, and uncheck groups they've subscribed to then click Save, the message "Thank you. Your information has been saved" is displayed and all seems well.  When you go back to the profile view, however, the groups are still subscribed.

This isn't a problem for the admin, just for non-admins.  I don't think it's a permissions problem since users can subscribe okay and edit their name.

I'm running CiviCRM 3.0.3.
