Batch update via profile broken

Batch update via profile is broken in 3.1 b4
Confirmed on sandbox.
Conduct a search for individuals, select a few and attempt to do batch update. You receive the following msg:

Code: [Select]
The contact type selected for Batch Update do not have corresponding profiles. Please make sure that Contact has a profile and try again.

The Batch update does not allow you to type in any of the fields it is locked.

There used to be drop downs and more selections...
