understanding the db

so, I have been having a lot of problems with importing large files.

It would timeout, then a lot of the lines would be duplicated, so I deleted all the imported contacts and started over.  However, now I am getting an error about

"Record duplicates multiple contacts http://unbreakablecrypto.com:20082/civicrm/contact/view?reset=1&cid=68417 http://unbreakablecrypto.com:20082/civicrm/contact/view?reset=1&cid=68233"

Even though those contacts have been deleted.  Is there some cache somewhere it is seeing this?  Searching fro the contact that is supposedly duplicated, or entering the cid manually verify that those contacts are not in the DB.

in general please just start and use one topic rather than multiple topics. Kinda makes it hard to keep track of what to respond where
