Make a new Type of contact.
September 12, 2007, 11:37:18 pm
Hello,
I work with CiviCRM 1.7 installed on Drupal 4.7.6 and it is very good. I am a user and I have no experience with CiviCRM development, but I have experience with the language of PHP, HTML, JS and CSS.

Now I try to make a new contact type like Individuals, Households and Organizations.
What is the best practice for this kind of development.

Thank you for the help
Pierre

Not sure what your timeline is, but would be great if you could make this contribution on trunk for our 2.0 release. Here are some notes on the wiki:

http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRM/Contact+changes

We want to allow people to extend the "contact" object using contact_subtype. There are significant schema changes between 1.x and 2.0 that we'd prefer you make this change on the 2.0 version of the code
