PCP in Joomla
January 07, 2010, 07:42:10 pm
I finally got a PCP page created, an email sent to verify my registration.  I verified my account, and my user became active in Joomla.  Now, what does the user do?  How does a user login (is there a special url to login and go to their personal campaign page to manage it)?  I found the default Joomla login page (index.php?option=com_user&view=login), but once I logged in, I just went back to my homepage.  I have a link on my site for "Team Login", so I'd like this link to go to the login page, and upon logging in, go to that users PCP page to manage it.

Thanks!!

You can create a link to the user dashboard in Menu Manager choosing Civicrm >> user dashboard and they can access their PCP as well as other things.  You also have to create a Joomla login page.  You can redirect to the user dashboard page you created, and there is an edit link on that page.

I don't see "user dashboard" under CiviCRM in the Menu Manager.  I see "CiviCRM Dashboard".  I created a link to that, but when I go there i get "You do not have permission to execute this url".  Creating a Joomla Login Page, do you mean enable the login module?  If so, then the redirect only happens if you login using the module, but if you actually go to the login page of Joomla (index.php?option=com_user&view=login), then this redirect has no effect after you login.

Thanks

That would be it.

Ok, but when you modify the mod-login module, and give it a login redirection page, that only works if you have that module displayed on a page somewhere.  If you go to the default Joomla login page (/index.php?option=com_user&view=login), that setting will have no effect, because it is using the user component, not the login module.

I don't have the module on my site, because I don't want the username/password boxes to be anywhere.  For me, you click a "Team Log In" link, that takes you to the Joomla login page for the user to login.

Thanks!
