Renaming or modifying names in maps (geocoding) for contacts
January 10, 2010, 07:00:24 pm
So I just installed 3.0.03 on calhers.og. I have a lot dialed in but there are a few questions;

I'm using Google maps for geocoding and when a contact is selected from a profile search, the address fields appear. The "location type" choices are "billing","home",Work", "main" and "other".

Is there any way to prevent "location type" from being displayed in Google maps? How about adding or modifying one of the "location types" ?

And the other thing was that "Map Location(s)" displays as the title of the page. Is there a way to modify this? Looked for a language file in the forums and found information about .po and .mo files and left them alone. I know my limits.

Thanks,

John

- I think Map displays only Primary location. So if you don't want to display a map then make that location non primary.
- Another option is to modify civicrm code to skip location type that you don't want to display on map.

You can set title using pageRun hook with  CRM_Utils_System::setTitle('Title') function.

John - note that you can change the labels on existing location types, add new ones, and change which location type is the 'default' - all from Administer CiviCRM >> Option Lists >> Location Types.

" I see" said the blind man. Thank you. I changed the labels and it presents so much better.
