I can't see where you add an image-url to a contact.

I don't think we expose image url on front-end.

Ah OK - it doesn't display as an image in a search profile either so I guess it's only really for customised implementations?

Yes. But in 3.2 we plan to expose it in UI. Check http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-5467

I meant as a displayed field in the search - not as a searchable one. Even if you don't want people to be searching search profiles are a quick way to create a listing - e.g. a member directory.

Actually - something I always mean to say. I always have trouble figuring out the link to view a profile as a search profile which I suspect means at lot of people don't know it exists. It would be good if all the relevant live links were obvious for each profile from the profile admin screen. As it is you have to look up the Help and substitute in the values. (e.g. add them as extra 'actions' in the little black handy drop-downy bit)
