Civi contribute redirects to home page/does not register user
January 11, 2010, 04:42:28 pm
Joomla 1.5. civicrm 3.0.3

Everything was working just peachy yesterday. The contribute form now displays the following after the user enters their information and continues:

"index2.php?option=com_civicrm&task=civicrm/menu/rebuild&reset=1"

When they click "continue" it redirects to home page without recording their information.

When you go back to the form again the message is "Your profile is not saved and Account is not created. "

Can you make sure that the form of the url you are using to access the page is the same as the url defined in the Civi global settings --

i.e. that you are either consistently use the www. form or the root form. Because Civi builds links off the url setting, using the alternate form will sometimes trigger it to loose the session.

I generally add directives to my .htaccess file to force usage of one or the other throughout the site (there are other components that can have issues with that as well).

I'm having this exact issue on 3.3.2 today. We just upgraded a client to 3.3.2 from 3.1.5, and migrated their site to a new server. Reset config_backend, everything seems to functioning properly except on contribution forms the thank you page is skipped, user is redirected to front page, and no drupal account is created. BaseURL matches the contribution form URLs, which matches the rewrite in .htaccess only difference being contribution pages are https.

If anyone has any ideas on how I might go about troubleshooting/solving this, I'd appreciate it!

EDIT: I just noticed this original topic was in the Joomla forum, but I'm experiencing the problem with an installation paired with Drupal.

Resolved this issue, for anyone that follows the issue was that CAPTCHA had been installed in Drupal and added to the user registration form. When Civi tried to create the user during the civicontribute form submission, it returned errors which causes Civi to bail on the entire operation.

Removed the CAPTCHA for the moment, and need to find a way to exclude CiviCRM from the CAPTCHA check.
