More than one price set in a single event?
January 12, 2010, 11:43:22 am
I'm setting up an event wherein the fees consist of two kinds - registration, where the registrant is required to pick a registrant type and the corresponding fee; and box lunch, where picking something is optional.

Right now I have everything in one price set, and everything just gets totalled.  But I worry about registrant confusion - I figure many of them will choose a box lunch but not a registrant type, or choose three box lunches, etc.

You can't use more than one price set on a registration page, correct?  If not, can anyone suggest a better solution?

Thanks, and thanks again for such a great system...

Hi Tracey,

I accomplished the same thing like this in one price set by Configuring 2 Price Options.

Price Option 1, Type = Radio Button Required Yes, with 3 Price Options
Price Option 2, Type = Text/Numeric Required No, with 1 Numeric input field

So the person would select their first Price Option which was 1 of 3 Choices (Reg Fee's), and required, then they would input the number of Extra Snacks/Lunches Required.

Worked very well for our event.

In your scenario for the Second Option, I take it that there would be multiple choices such as:

None - 0.00
Box 1 - 10.00
Box 2 - 15.00
Box 3 - 20.00

I would use the Type Radio Button for this as well and set both Options to Required Yes.

This will prevent a person from only selecting one option or the other and continuing when what you want them to do is select their fee level and what type of box lunch they want.

Hope I understood you correctly and that this helps.

Dallas

Holy crap - I guess I missed that you could have two different price options in one set.  Thanks!
