Paypal Error Message

I'm making my first excursion into CiviEvent with Online Reg.

CiviCRM 1.8.10954
Joomla 1.0.13

The work flow tests properly using the test process in the back-end.  From both the Live Page link in the back end and an exposed registration link in the front end, at the payment processing point, PayPal generates the following error message:

There are also numerous PHP Notice error messages in my apache error_log regarding undefined properties and indexes in scripts called in the reg. process

I found this link after doing a Google search on the PayPal error message you're getting:

:-[ That was so nice! I should have done that. I'm sorry I expected it was a CiviCRM error!
