Erorr when trying to Configure an Event

When trying to configure an event I get this error

Sorry. A non-recoverable error has occurred.

You do not have permission to access this page

Return to home page.

the URL it is trying to call is localhost.com/civicrm/standalone/index.php?q=civicrm/admin/event&action=update&id=1&reset=1

Anyone know how to fix this?
