no way to hide? at all?

I can see that.

i am in a quandary: to allow users to see the profile registrations, I need to allow "access civicrm."  but I really want to hide the menu to non-admin users.

no recourse?

Can't you just use profile search feature for this, instead of giving "access CiviCRM" permission?

okay, really dumb questions:

1.  what is the profile search feature and how do I use it?
2.  Does it allow me to create a link (via views in drupal) so that users can see their various registration forms?

I am using drupal/civi to allow users to submit paper proposals online for an annual conference.  I want them to be able to see their past submissions.  Given that civiEvent really doesn't handle sessions within an event, the paper submission for each year is its own 'event' with a profile page users can see.  Does this make sense?  I can provide more info if it helps.

so I am not as dumb as i sound...

If you are talking about what I am thinking, I did investigate the possibility.  However, whenever I try to set a field as searchable, I get a popup: my profile contains fields from multiple record types, and so the fields aren't searchable.  If they aren't searchable, they can't be shown in a search profile, correct?

Perhaps I am misunderstanding how this works, especially since all the fields are participant fields (custom).  I even tried to edit the fields as searchable in the DB, to no avail.  I can't create a searchable profile with these fields.  Besides, I am not sure that is what I want.  I only want the user to be able to view their own submission, no one else's.  This is confidential info.

Check http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/profile?reset=1&gid=1, here gid is your profile id.

You can use this link for registration: http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/profile/create?reset=1&gid=1

As I thought, I am using profiles this way, as registration forms.  What I am trying to do is then allow the participant to see their filled out form.  As Lobo clarified, this is NOT the same as 'view participant' which as I understand simply lists registered participants to an event.  I want to the user to see their own participant data for each event registration.  I am setting up a system where society members submit papers for an upcoming meeting.  Submissions are their own 'event'.  I want them to see the various paper submissions they have made over the years.  Apparently this is not normal use of Civi, so I am trying to come up with work arounds.

thanks though,
m
