Adding a constituent group excludes all contacts
January 26, 2010, 05:30:26 am
I'm sure this shouldn't be happening.

If I create a report for all contacts and then indicate I only want to return contacts that are members of a particular group (Group | is one of | selection list )  I then don't get any results at all, despite the fact all the groups I can select from are well populated. If I leave that section out of course all records are returned.

Can you please replicate this on http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org.

Thanks

Sorry, missed your reply. It doesn't happen on the demo site, and I've realised there are some groups that report correctly on my database, so it must be something to do with the way the group is setup. I will investigate further.

Ok, on further investigation it is  Smart groups made from contact subtypes that appear as an option in the Report Criteria as a selectable group but display no results when selected despite the Group being well populated.

I've tried to replicate on the demo site but Smart groups show up fine in the reports on there. It might be related to my Views problem then - http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,11654.msg51724.html#msg51724

Just to confirm I've seen this behaviour as well on a new CiviCRM installation.  If my smart group has a contact subtype as part of the criteria the reports come up empty.

What's your civicrm version? Demo is on 3.2 so I guess it is fixed. So would recommend upgrade to stable 3.2.0

Mark - If you can replicate this on the 3.2 demo, please file an issue on the issue tracker. thx!
