why upgrade?
January 26, 2010, 06:25:09 pm
Hi,

I have a client running civicrm 2.2.2 on a Joomla site, and I am recommending to them that they upgrade to latest version of civicrm. I couldn't really find any good change log docs or anything on the civicrm site, and they are asking why they need to.

Can anyone shed some light as to why it is worth upgrading to civicrm 3.1 (or latest version?)

Thanks,

Yashodha Chaku

Here is the list of items that have been done in 3.0/3.1 :
http://civicrm.org/node/646
http://civicrm.org/node/679

in addition to a lot of bug fixes and other features. For details you might want to look at
http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRM/CiviCRM+v3.0
http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRM/CiviCRM+v3.1

And its always good to upgrade, since its hard for us to support/investigate bugs for previous releases.
