Could not find valid Key
January 27, 2010, 02:16:37 am
Hi All

This is my second install of CiviCRM 3.0.3, altho I had problems with the first site they were resolved but now I seem to have a differnt problem.

Basically when i try to change the global settings, Update Directory Path and URL and the Resource URL's i get the following error...

unrecoverable error
Sorry. A non-recoverable error has occurred.

    Could not find valid Key

    Return to home page.

I have checked the configuration.php in the Joomla root and the $live_site value is correct (tried with and without a trailing slash)

I have checked the civicrm.settings.php file and the site url matches the one in the configuration.php

I have checked the CHMOD settings for the civicrm folders and set them to 755

Whats happening? Can anyone help?

TIA

Kev

1) make sure you've checked civicrm.settings.php in BOTH the components/com_civicrm/ AND administrator/components/com_civicrm/ directories

2) delete folders inside: media/civicrm/templates_c/

3) get into your database, go to civicrm_domain, edit the record and on the backend settings field, set it to null. that will cause civi to reset all values

you may not need to do all of the above. but each step should ensure there are no remnant settings messing things up.

Brilliant!

Thank you, checked both settings files and they were Ok.

Removed the folders and tried again and it fixed the problem.

Thank you again
