Suggestion: Event listing
January 27, 2010, 11:25:10 am
For organizations that might have multiple events with online registration, I suggest that CiviCRM have a template or whatever that lists the events, with links to their respective registration pages. It's certainly possible to create one manually, but something built-in would be nice.  Something similar to what you find at (your domain here)/civicrm/event?reset=1 if you're an administrator.

That said, CiviCRM is a great resource, and I'm constantly recommending it to my colleagues in non-profits.  Kudos for all the great work that's gone into it.

Very cool, indeed. I noticed on the 4.3 demo site event page that one event was still accepting registration and the other had a yellow message at the top saying the event was full. How can I create a sort that could be filtered by events that are full or not, please? Our organization has hundreds of events per month and volunteers need to get a certain minimum number of hours in every year at these events. A method to sort which events still have vacancies would be a very useful function.

Is this possible in 4.2.8 or 4.3, please?

You can probably do this in views with some custom php code (to let views knows how many spots are left for each event)

The below does sound like a useful feature for many orgs. So would be great if you can investigate and contribute it back.

Sure, do you have any examples handy of the sort of code that would need to be written or can you point me to a resource that I could get examples from, please? I can give it a shot if I can get an better idea of what it is that needs to be done.

Many thanks.

for civi stuff, the books are good resources: http://book.civicrm.org/

i would download and see how far you can get with views w/o any custom code. The views project on drupal.org has tons of great docs

Thanks, I've already been trying that but haven't been able to get Civi Events fields into a view yet. I can get all kinds of other civi fields to display in a view, but not civi events fields. Any advice is appreciated.
