Contribution form label
January 30, 2010, 07:02:35 pm
I am using CiviCRM version 2.2.9. On my contribution form I have enabled the "other amount" field. The label for this field is "Contribution amount" though the back end says it should  be "Other Amount".

I have been reading about .mo files and .po files and am rather lost at this point.

Question, is there a language file where this label can be changed?

Thanks,

Ken

That field is labeled 'Other Amount' if you've also created some 'fixed' contribution amounts using the table on the Configure >> Contribution Amounts form. If there are no fixed amounts, the label is swapped to show 'Contribution Amount' (since 'Other Amount' doesn't really make sense when there aren't any other amounts on the page).

If for some reason this doesn't fit your case, your best bet is to create a custom version of that template for your site and override the provided label.

Thanks for the reply. I am using the contribution form for membership sign-ups, but wanted to allow them to add an "other amount". It's no biggie, I took care of it a different way.

But your advice on the custom templates was very helpful.
