Hi all,
civicrm.settings.php has "apache" as owner/group - I can't make any changes 2it!
Can anyone help.
Why would it install as apache owner/group in the first place!

You should check this with your server administrator.

thanks for the quick reply!
I have a VPN account & I am the admin, but I am not a linux guy.
My problem is I can't delete/modify/overwrite the civicrm.settings.php file it has its permission set to 644 & the owner/group apache!
Any idea how this one file could get different owner/group than what I have for all other folders/files?

sudo chown user:group filename

this will run the chown command under root permissions - if you have rights to run sudo. You will need to give a password

Thanks for the quick reply.
I tried to run "sudo" from command line - but for that SSH user "sudo" was not enabled.  So I used the super admin login in the Simple Control Panel - & it had all the permissions to overwrite the file & it reset the permissions to the user/owner of that account.
