Error when trying to create Relationship

Hello,

I'm using CiviCRM 3.0 w/Joomla!

Problem: Receive the following error when trying to establish relationships between two contacts.

Code: [Select]
Could not find valid value for cid
I've been able to add relationships in the past. This just recently happened.

Any thoughts?

Can you give exact steps to replicate this. I hope you are not editing in multiple tabs.

Kurund,
 what's the issue with editing in multiple tabs?  With all of the modern browsers now supporting tabs, this seems to be an increasingly popular way to improve productivity.

Hi David,
it is indeed a boost to productivity, and I do enter data in more tabs as well. The risk is though that some data is changed on your screen, but not in the database yet? I think the message you get suggest that you are trying to add a relationship to a non-existing contact? At least I think that is what CID is referring too. Am I right, Kurund?

there is a bug within CiviCRM with session managament and handling multiple tabs

we hope to fix this in a future release. if this is important to you, consider sponsoring the core team to do so in the next release

Thanks for the information.  I have been "bitten" by the "multiple tabs" bug on several occasions - it's good to know that it has already been reported and a ticket opened.  I'll spread the word to the staff and volunteers who are doing CiviCRM data entry and make a personal donation when my next check arrives.
