Confirmation Emails for online registration

Is it possible to send PDF attachments with event registration confirmation emails?  If so, where do I turn to make it work?  Thank you for any and all assistance.

not by default.

in 3.1, you can potentially use the hook_civicrm_alterMailParams

http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/CiviCRM+hook+specification#CiviCRMhookspecification-hookcivicrmalterMailParams

i've not tried adding attachments via the hook, but it should work, as long as you specify things in the expected format
