I'm running into an odd situation. I disable, membership types, I even get them to belong to "admin" instead of "Public" and they keep on being showned at the membership block in contribution page!

Does anyone know how to fix this?

I simply have to put a site online and I can't because I'm not able to truly disable some membership types.

The primary control for which Membership Types appear on a Contribution Page is done from:

Manage Contribution Pages >> Configure >> Membership Settings

There's a table with a checkbox next to each available public membership type. Only "checked" types should be included on the Contribution Page.

I've just verified this behavior on our demo site:

Test drive: http://demo.civicrm.org/drupal/civicrm/contribute/transact?reset=1&action=preview&id=2

It does look like there's a bug in that if you Disable the membership type - it no longer shows up on the Configure >> Membership Settings page - but if it was checked originally - it still shows up on the Online Contribution Page. I'll file an issue for this for 2.0 - but in the meantime, just ENABLE all your membership types (Administer >> Membership Types), then only check the ones you want included when configuring the Membership Settings for your Contribution Page.
