Uncaught exception 'Exception' with message 'Please make sure the IDS/tmp folder
February 03, 2010, 10:15:00 pm
I have the infamous

Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'Exception' with message 'Please make sure the IDS/tmp folder is writable' in /home/gingerfe/public_html/1/habitat_drupal5/sites/all/modules/civicrm/packages/IDS/Monitor.php:187

Googled it. Interestingly enough, hundreds of CiviCRM website proudly display their Fatal errors of unwritable IDS/tmp. Hmm. I don't really want to use CiviCRM that way -- even though many admins are blazing a path into the void...

So I set my /files/civicrm/upload/ to 777.
Didn't help

I set all the files inside /files/civicrm/upload/ to 777.
Didn't help

I set /files/civicrm/ to 777.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
JJ

JJ - If you're using 3.1, the 'tmp' directory referenced is sites/(default)/files/civicrm/templates_c/en_US/ConfigAndLog. Can you verify permissions on that folder - that the webserver user as read / write perms there. I would also try deleting Config.IDS.ini in that folder if it currently exists.
