3.1.1: Import Contacts can't enter csv file name
February 10, 2010, 03:59:13 pm
I have a new installation of 3.1.1.
I have another installation on a different website of 3.1.0 on the same server, so the server is good for civicrm.
This is a fresh installation, which looks like it went well, however i run into an issue with importing Contacts.
Note; Importing Contacts with 3.1.0 worked very well.

Issue:
In the first step of importing Contacts, screen goes wide, can't enter anything in the fields 'Choose Data Source', 'Upload CSV File', 'Import Options'.

Questions:
Is my installation maybe incomplete?
Is this a bug in 3.1.1?

Further news:
I installed 3.1.1 on another website, and same problem. I have successfully done an import with 3.1.0 on another website.
Any suggestions much appreciated.

Hi KarenAnn,
I've just tried this on the demo site, and it seems to work there. Strange....that suggest some kind of issue with your specific situation...this is the only area of trouble after upgrading?

Hi Erik:
2 issues that I have seen so far, the import of Contacts, and adding/editing/changing option values (prefix/suffix). Same thing happens there, screen goes wide.

Since I've done the install twice and it does the identical thing, is it possible i have on the server say a memory issue?

Possibly, I would definitely say that you have some kind of issue on the server. Are you using Drupal?

I'm sorry, I only have experience with Drupal.....I hope someone else with Joomla expertise will be able to help you!

Thank you for helping me. Here is the screen capture.
I am willing to do a reinstallation if I know what to fix.
My guess is that it is a load difference between 3.1.0 and 3.1.1.

What about reinstalling, while using a .htaccess file, adding criteria  to the bottom:
(I did not do this before - wondering if it would help???)
php_value memory_limit 64M
php_value register_globals off
php_value max_execution_time 600

If I uninstall, the civicrm tables are not removed.  Is there a trick to removing them?
Or maybe I should install on top?
Or maybe i should start with a new database?

This may be browser(IE) related issue. Are you able see same behavior on http://joomla.demo.civicrm.org

Hello Kurund:
you are a rock star. It was a browser issue. I have no problems in firefox. I have converted to firefox now. Thank you for your help, you are a genius!
I have done my imports successfully and now have 1500 in my list.
I did run into an issue with Salutations, but decided to avoid the hassle and just not import salutations.
Next steps are to create a signup form.
