How to disable an activity type?
February 11, 2010, 02:25:32 am
Hi,

I've disabled CiviMail, but want users to record what they have done by email. So I need "email" as an activity type. But not the default one, which tries to send an email using CiviMail. So I created a new activity type. But how to disable the "old" one? (Email outbound and Email inbound.) I just want it not to show in -new activity- list.

Best,
Witek

You cannot disable system reserved activity types like: Email / Inbound Email.

... and disabling the activity type for 'Email' doesn't remove it from the -new activity- option list. You probably could remove the Send Email option using hooks - but unfortunately there's several places you'd have to handle (including right-click 'context menu pop-up' on search results, 'create new' dropdown in block on right side ...)
