[SOLVED] troubleshooting "notify when profile is submitted"
February 11, 2010, 09:52:46 am
Hi,

We're running Civi 3.0.2 on Drupal 6.15.  I created a profile called "Attendee" and configured it.  I then pasted the HTML of the profile form into a page on the public Drupal site.

Everything was working perfectly, particularly the email notifications that I entered in the Advanced Settings section.  Then, approximately "a month ago" according to the users, the email notification stopped working.  I just confirmed that everything is still configured properly, and I verified the problem by adding my own email address into the "notify when profile form submitted" field and adding a test user.  I did not get the notification.

So far I confirmed that the server is still mailing scheduled CiviMail mailings successfully, but I'm not sure where to begin to troubleshoot this notification issue.  Suggestions?

----------------------- addendum---------------

Apparently, we were using a different profile than the one our documentation stated.  I updated our documentation and modified the correct profile, everything works A-OK.  Thanks to Kurund for helping out in freenode#civicrm!!!

Thanks!
Jim

Jim,

Have you check if you can sent test email from http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/admin/setting/smtp&reset=1

Also try to send an Email from your Contact Summary.

Hi Kurund,

Yes, the SMTP test message is sent successfully, and I was able to successfully send a message to my test record via the contact summary.

So it's probably not a mail problem, then, right?  Any other ideas as to what would cause the notification not to happen during the profile form submission process?  Especially weird since it *did* work - the users were getting notified of every signup and someone just realized that they stopped about a month ago, even though hundreds of folks have signed up since then.

Thanks for your suggestions and any other you might have!
-Jim
