Only one custom profile on Drupal user registration
September 25, 2007, 04:43:58 am
CiviCRM and Drupal configured etc.

I've created two custom profiles to be completed by users when they sign up.
The first is displayed correctly on the registration page in drupal, but the second one is only shown when the user edits their details. Why does the second one not appear (I've checked show on user registration for both).

Thanks, Stephen

Profiles will be excluded from User Registration if they contain fields that are duplicates of field(s) in another profile which is ALSO configured to appear in User Registration. Also, if a profile contains fields belonging to a mix of contact types (e.g Individual + Organization) - they will not be displayed (in either User Reg or My Account).

If neither of these matches your case - please try and recreate your problem on our demo site - and if it recreates, file an issue in our bug tracker with details on how to recreate the problem. Thx!

Neither case applies. All fields are relating to an individual and only appear once.

You can review the current setup on demo to see a "working" example:
http://demo.civicrm.org/drupal/user/register

Then modify this to match your setup and see if it recreates. (I'm assuming by the way that you're running current versions of Drupal - 5.2 and of CiviCRM - 1.8.)

Thank you for the replies. I've just started looking at this and the fields are there, as if by magic. I'm not sure whether I was sleep deprived when I made the first post, or whether some other tinkering has solved the problem. Either way, I'm happy and CiviCRM is pretty incredible.

As a random aside, is there a page with the history of CiviCRM? How did it get started?

We don't have a "history" page - I guess we need a historian :-). The closest to it would be our 2006 Year-end Report linked from here:
http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRM/Home

The project was started by Donald Lobo and myself ~3 years ago, after working together at Groundspring.org - and realizing that there was a need for an open-source solution in the NPO/NGO/eAdvocacy space.
