Cannot Create New Users through Drupal with Civicrm
September 25, 2007, 02:59:41 pm
Whenever I try to create a new user, it either replaces my old user with the new user's information, or I get a 'cannot find valid key' error.

I've checked everything, the address in settings.php and civicrm.settings.php matches. I have a user id = 0.

About the userid = 0.  I went in directly to myphpadmin using bluehost and i made a table for user ID= 0, but it doesn't look legitimate, like it's a valid way to put in the user.

The name, pass, mail, mode, sort, threshold, theme, signature, created, access, login, status, timezone, language, picture, init, and data column information that I placed for user id 0 is different than the other users because I created the other users using the website interface, but I created user 0 using the myphpadmin and directly creating a table for uid = 0.

Reasons why I think things are still messed up might be because I don't know how to adequately create uid = 0.

In my attachment I have an illustration of my UID = 0 compared to any other UID I have had created using the website interface.

---------------------------------------

theme   bluehost
Apache version   1.3.37 (Unix)
PHP version   5.1.6
MySQL version   5.0.27-standard-log
CiviCRM Configuration File - v1.7
Drupal 5.1

 * Settings for Drupal 5.1:
 *      define( 'CIVICRM_UF'        , 'Drupal' );
 *      define( 'CIVICRM_UF_VERSION', '5.1' );
 *      define( 'CIVICRM_UF_URLVAR' , 'q'  );

Also, when I do try to align and match everything with user id = 0 as with every user id, and I try to sign in....

I can't get in because the system doesn't recognize the newly created user screen name NOR email address.

I am not clear about on this problem (CiviCRM or Drupal). Do you get any error messages ?

It's a civicrm error, I believe.  I got the "Cannot find valid key" error sometimes when I try to create a new account.  Or it would work, but the new information just replaces an existing user account and it's really frustrating because I need users to be able to register and not have old users be removed by it.

Can you get on IRC, will be easier to debug. Also search on forum for "invalid key" error.

What is IRC?  Sorry, I'm a bit new.

Searching on this forum, the wiki and google are all "your friends"... Searching for "civicrm IRC" on google returned this useful link:
