Households -- export, mailing labels
February 15, 2010, 02:30:59 pm
Has there been any discussion about extending the two options available when creating mailing labels to the export function? That would be very useful when working with households:

Code: [Select]
Do not print labels for contacts with "Do Not Mail" privacy option checked
Merge labels for contacts with the same address

Also, it appears this functionality has some bugs when working with mailing labels. The city/state/zip fields are sent to the pdf, but the address lines are missing. Also, if you run a search for individuals and create mailing labels with the merge labels option on, the household names are not included in the mailing -- that line is left blank. I think that option should be explicitly noted as a householding feature and if selected, the household name will always appear (even if the search was for indivs).

Brian -
I don't think extending either of those params for export has come up. (I guess you can potentially do that filtering in Excel.)

Regarding 'bugs'
- If address lines are missing when two contacts w/ same address are written to 1 label - and that's recreatable in 3.1 - please file an issue with details

- Not sure about correct behavior for 'household has dupe address to individual' when only individuals are in search result set. Seems like 'Merge labels for contacts with same address' applies specifically to the subset of contacts in the search results - so household data would not be included if only Individuals are searched.
