Problems configuring DPS Payment Express as a Payment Processor
February 16, 2010, 01:49:56 pm
Hi all,
This is my first time use of CiviCRM, I'm based in NZ and trying to configure civiContribute to run with DPS Payment Express.

I have the relevant credentials from DPS for a developer test account for PxPay, and I've tested that this works on the DPS website by navigating to the relevant page and running a dummy transaction with credit card 4111111111111111, etc

I've created a new payment processor in CiviCRM which using DPS as the payment processor type and I've added our User ID plus Key that was supplied by DPS for PxPay, the URL I'm using is https://sec2.paymentexpress.com/pxpay/pxaccess.aspx

NOTE: I've entered the developer User ID and Key for both Live and Test payments, but I'm only currently running test payments.

I have set up a "price set" and a  new "contribution page" that uses this payment processor and price set.

When I "test drive" the contribution page, it takes me through 2 stages, the first is where I select my contribution amount and enter an email, the second is the confirmation page, so far so good.

The problem occurs when I confirm my contribution, I get the following error:

"Sorry. A non-recoverable error has occurred.
Unable to establish connection to the payment gateway."

Any help in understanding where this is failing would be greatly appreciated, as I'm banging my head at the moment

Many thanks

Paul

Hi Eileen, Hayden

Thanks Eileen, but I've tried that URL for Payment Express and I'm still getting the same problem.  Not sure why it's happening.

What version of CiviCRM are using Eileen that is using the DPS payment processor?  I noticed that me and Paul are using 3.1 so maybe there is a bug in CiviCRM 3.1?  Or perhaps me and Paul are just doing it completely wrong.

Hi Paul.

You need to take the original PxPayKey and split it up into a 48-character Des Key and a 16-character Mac Key :)

I also have my site url set up as https://www.paymentexpress.com/pxpay/pxpay.aspx

Also make sure under Global Settings/Localization that the default currency is at $NZD.
Hope that works for you!

Sorry have been quiet on this, haven't had time to look at this, 2 other projects taking all my time.

Haydo, brilliant, thanks for that insight, I hadn't twigged that was the issue with our own dev credentials.

It's not obvious from the email that you get from DPS that it is fact 2 keys in one.

And Eileen, thanks for all your help on this as well.  The dev credentials that you supplied worked fine once I'd installed mcypt.

I'm back on this project now, so will keep you posted around recurring payments progress.

Yeah - I think the reason it causes a problem is that the url for pxpay is pxaccess & vice versa so when you configure for pxpay you naturally get the URL wrong.... (sigh)
