upgrade 304 to 312 error
February 17, 2010, 09:52:50 am
I tried the upgrade from 304 to 312. As in some other thread, the upgrade script did not complete and gave an error (missing required file) and finally got a blank screen instead of the main dashboard.
On the second attempt, the message disappeared but the script stopped again, this time asking to restore the 'old' database because this one was half-upgraded.
But my database was already the restored old one!
Now CiviCRM doesn't work anymore, neither with the old 304 nor with the new.

Can SO help? Thanks
Andrea Primiani

My guess is you are trying to upgrade on failed db. So can you double check if you are actually on your 3.0.4 db. Also what errors do you get? What is version no in your civicrm_domain table?

I have double checked.. the db is the 3.0.4 I saved before.

version in civicrm_domain says 3.0.4 ???

And the error is an Unespected Error that says not much

I haven't any other recent backup. only one dated 29dec09, but in the very first days of january we imported a big batch of data in the db.
Can I recover the database otherwise?

Thx

Its hard to guess anything from your description. May be you should consider hiring someone from http://civicrm.org/professional list and investigate why upgrade is failing.
