iCal url help
February 17, 2010, 11:16:01 am
I am trying to set up an iCal feed from CiviEvent to an iCal compatible Joomla calendar component (JEvents). When I use the url given by Civi, its doesn't work because the url directs the calendar to the backend, and the calendar component is blocked because it is not logged in. Here is the url that I'm using.  http://www.acsmissiontraining.com/administrator/index2.php?option=com_civicrm&task=civicrm/event/ical&reset=1&page=1

I'm pretty new to all of these programs, so hopefully I'm just missing something obvious. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I figured it out. Just removed "/administrator" from the url.

I'm having the same issue in receipts e-mailed to event attendees.  I know to remove the administrator part of the URL but it should not be included I would think. How do I make sure that it is not included in the first place?

http://www.scrid.org/administrator/index2.php?option=com_civicrm&task=civicrm/event/ical&reset=1&id=5  (does not work for user)

http://www.scrid.org/index2.php?option=com_civicrm&task=civicrm/event/ical&reset=1&id=5   (works, but I had to manually remove "administrator/")

I think this issue is already fixed. I would recommend you should upgrade to 3.1

I'm having similar problems with 3.1 (drupal 6.15).  I don't know if my expectations are in error or if its a bug.

I have a fundraising event with pay-later enabled.

The atendee profile is first/last name, street address, city, postal code, country, state, phone, email and age (custom: over 17? yes/no).  I've used various emails from the contact set (primary, main, etc....), all with the same behavior.

on the registration form the fee(s) stuff appears properly in a fieldset.  The contact stuff appears properly in a second fieldset.

But, the email input always appears in neither fieldset, but just below the 'pay-later' checkbox which is between the two fieldsets.

Fill in the form, and all the fields are required and validation works, and then get to the reviewed & completed page and it thanks you properly, says it sent an email, and lists all of the data correctly, including the email, which is always labeled 'Registerd email'.

I've never received an email on completion of the form.  No errors are reported.  I use sendmail as the transport, not SMTP, and the configuration test mail always goes out OK.

When I go to the participant management stuff to clear the transaction, all works well.  I can change status, mark contribution paid, etc.

However, if I try to email the participants it says it can't email because they have no email address.  Indeed, they don't.  All of the other data from the registration appears correctly where it should, but the email never makes it into the contact profile.  The contact type is individual. If I search registered participants by email I never find anyone.  Searching by status, event, etc. show the expected names.

The contributions and events show up in the user's profile properly.

If I edit the contact to forcibly include an email, the email works.  Also, if I go back to the participants manager, the receipt now goes out when I edit the manually updated users' records.  Also, when an email is added to the contact, the option to send a message to the participant appears on the participant edit form; it had been absent before, and it works now.

The event is configured to NOT create a drupal, and there is no synchronisation with drupal users, so there shouldn't be any funny business there.

I'm getting the impression that the email field is getting tangled up in the pay-later flow somehow.  Is there a constraint that a pay-later registration must have an email, and that that somehow preempts its inclusion into the new contact profile?  In any event, the email is going missing.
