How to recover from a partially upgraded database
February 18, 2010, 02:33:38 pm
I've been running 2.2.7.

Try to upgrade to 3.1.2. Got the same error as http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,11953.0.html . I then copied what I thought was my backed up database back into the sql directory and tried again, and and got
Quote
"Database check failed - it looks like you have already upgraded to the latest version"

At that point I went digging and realised that I've been backing up the wrong database for several months  >:(

So - my question is: where do I start in order to try and get a partially upgraded database back into a state where i can upgrade it successfully?

Thanks

not sure what we can suggest here other than:

1. take apart the upgrade script and do things one step at a time

2. hire someone from http://civicrm.org/professional/ to do the above

i suspect it will be a lot of 2 steps forward, 1 step backward, write small scripts to move things etc

I don't have the time or skills to recover from a failed upgrade. Any suggestions re: hiring a consultant?

Check the Professional Services page:
http://civicrm.org/professional

Web Access might be a good choice for this type of project.
