Author Topic: Custom Fields not showing in profile/ not able to select custom profiel (Read 1062 times)

Ok, I don't understand what I am doing wrong. I have made a new custom group, added fields to it and now I want to make a custom profile using the fields.
However, when I start customize profile, the new fields don't show in the drop down menu fields.
So, how do I get them there?
Also, I am not able to select any of my custom profiles, unless I force a change in the underlying mysql table using PhPmyAdmin.

Please help. I've reviewed all tutorials, and have taken the same steps, but it is not working for me.
Does it rely on access permissions I don't have (set)

The whole civicrm is on my local machine, based on drupal 6.1.

Ineke,

What type of custom fields did you create? If you have created of type Contact, it will be shown in a select after you select Field Name: Contact on profile add field screen. ( http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/admin/uf/group/field?reset=1&action=add&gid=1 )

Hello Ineke,

A couple more things to consider:

1. You need to make sure that the field is selected as active.

2. Make certain that you set the fields visibility to Public, or some of your contacts will not see them.

3. if you are looking for the name of the field set, you will not find it, the dropdowns display the names of the fields themselves.
