Profile oddness in event registration
February 22, 2010, 03:07:42 pm
I'm getting some odd and inconsistent behavior when trying to use a profile on an event registration page.  I really can't quite make sense of it.  The profile contains only an "Email (primary)" field and a "Group(s)" field.  (Also, this is being tested on events with "Allow multiple registrations from the same email address?" set, if that makes a difference.)

Case 1.  For authenticated users on the demo site, I can add groups via the profile, but not remove them.  Unchecking a group box on the event registration page has no effect.

Case 2.  For authenticated users on my site, I can add groups via the profile, but unchecking a group box removes the contact from the appropriate group and ALSO removes the contact from any/all non-public groups it is already in.

It is bizarre to me that the behavior is not the same on both sites, but even more bizarre that each is differently wrong.

I suspect there may be something seriously wrong with my install and/or DB, but I don't know where to begin trying to figure it out.  Any advice is appreciated.

Yeah, sorry.  My earlier description could not have been less clear.

I am experiencing the unexpected behavior described in case 2 on my server.  I tried to replicate it on the demo server.  But instead of either a) having the same problem as my server, or b) working correctly, the demo server displayed an different unexpected behavior (case 1).

Which just confused me further.
