Dashboard Item Moved Permanently
February 24, 2010, 03:37:46 am
My initial CiviCRM set up in Joomla was done on a subdomain of my webhost's server. Since it has been moved to my own domain, the dashboard will not display reports or the default activities pane.
Instead, it just says the item has "moved permanently" (see attached image). If you click the link, you get a white page, outside of the admin panel, which includes the report data. The URL to that page is {mydomain}/administrator/index2.php?option=com_civicrm&task=civicrm/dashlet/activity&reset=1&snippet=4

I'm tempted to just delete the entry from the civicrm_dashboard table, and see what happens.

Yes. It is not a matter of refreshing the data.

We never store absolute url in db, so it should work for you. Can you double check if you have correct Resource Url. If still problem persist ping us on #civicrm ( irc channel )

I don't know how to access an IRC channel (I'll google it to learn.) However, this is my Resource URL setting:
http://mydomain.com/administrator/components/com_civicrm/civicrm/

In addition to this problem with the dashboard, I now find that I cannot edit or delete records, or even event descriptions. When I hit the button, it just refreshes the page and the information stays. It seems that this would be related to the move my site made from a sandbox version on a subdomain of my webhost to my own domain:
Like this...
http://mydomain.hisdomain.net > http://mydomain.com
I beginning to wonder if my webhost has to change some setting.

SOLVED: Dashboard Item Moved Permanently
February 25, 2010, 09:26:54 am
This issue, and several others that were preventing me from updating contacts, or installing dashlets on the dashboard were all resolves, thanks to heroic efforts by CiviCRM genius KURUND, by updating the baseurl of my install in both /components/com_civicrm/civicrm.settings.php and in /administrator/components/com_civicrm/civicrm.settings.php

All I had to do was add www to the baseurl.
