Optimising jquery: CRM-5327 and CRM-5878: will this help Joomla! ?

I note that CRM-5327 has been closed in deference to CRM-5878, but the latter seems to make use of Drupal components, which begs the question: will the optimisation of the loading of jQuery be available to Joomla! users?

hopefully joomla will come out with js / css aggregration in a future release. We are not planning to build that into civicrm

alternatively you can try php speedy and see if that works for you
