Email Contacts now Limited to only 50 recipients?

Upgraded from Civicrm 2.2 to 3.1 and now it appears that we can only email 50 contacts using the Send Email to Contact feature?

When attempting to use the send email to contacts feature with a smart group of 300+ end-user gets "A non-recoverable error has occurred, Please do not use this task to send a lot of emails (greater then 50)..."

The above worked fine in 2.2.

Any suggestions?  Apart from using civimail?

you can fix this by editing the file:

CRM/Contact/Form/Task/EmailCommon.php

and increasing the value of this constant:

MAX_EMAILS_KILL_SWITCH

Thank you, thank you, thank you !!! for this setting.

I really appreciate you having this setting and allowing it to be configurable.  Without it, almost any user of CiviCRM can send emails to an unlimited number of contacts with "send email to contacts", completely bypassing our CiviMail controls.

Perhaps someday it might be an installation parameter saved to the database or in the civicrm.settings.php file, to make it easier to carry forward to new versions, but hey, I'm thrilled to have it.
