Upgrade from 3.1.2 to 3.1.3
February 28, 2010, 01:43:26 am
Hi,

Getting the following error:

DB Error: syntax error

Database Error Code: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'UPDATE civicrm_menu SET is_ssl = 1 WHERE path = 'civicrm/event/' at line 9, 1064

System details:
# Apache/2.2.11 (Unix) DAV/2 mod_ssl/2.2.11 OpenSSL/0.9.8i PHP/5.2.8 mod_apreq2-20051231/2.6.0 mod_perl/2.0.4 Perl/v5.10.0
# MySQL client version: 5.1.30

Any ideas on what I need to do to finish the upgrade?  (It seems to be working ok even with the error...)

Regards,
Sean.

The lack of reply from anyone is not a good sign for us.

I am evaluating civiCRM for a Volunteer organisation to manage memberships.

I removed the 3.1.3 install and started from scratch so that I could keep going with the evaluation.

i think u would have gotten a reply if we (or someone else) had any idea on what the potential problem was. Would have been good for you to take the next step and tried to execute that sql statement in mysql shell (or phpmyadmin)

we do try to answer most posts, but cant get to all of them. As an open source project a lot of the folks contribute their own time and resources

Fully understand open source projects.

I thought I had listed the problem in my first post - if further info was required someone could have asked.

The issue arose while running the update after uploading 3.1.3 and part of the message said to raise the issue on the community forums, which I did.

Unfortunately I am not a sql guru and have no idea what I was meant to do to fix the issue, hence raising it here hoping someone could give guidance (after following upgrade instructions).

The assumption that all people trying to use and evaluate civiCRM are all linux/Drupal/MySQL experts is a mistake and could cause potential clients to not support the project.

Anyway like I said I have started from scratch with 3.1.3 which is working great so far and I quite like the civiCRM system in general.

Like other open source projects I am actively involved in will provide feedback where I can (from a non-developer aspect).
