Import from Server File ?
February 28, 2010, 11:13:00 pm
Import from Server File rather than from local?

I'm working on importing about 8,000 contacts and while the process is working much better with 3.1.3 than 1.9 did, I can't help wondering if there is a way to load the files up to the server first and then import from there rather than loading from local.

This might solve some of the timeout issues, although got 3,133 in first batch and looks like more in the second, but now I have to go back and see where stopped and load from there.  Took 3 tries with a very few fields, but huge improvement over version 1.9.

Maybe wishlist for the future is to run in chunks like the bigdump utility does.  Will be interesting to now look at the file structure and contents.
